Choose a VoIP-friendly router

What to look for in a router for business calls.

The router has a big effect on call quality.

  1. Make sure SIP ALG can be turned off.
  2. Check it supports QoS or traffic prioritisation.
  3. Look for VLAN support if you plan a voice VLAN.
  4. Choose a business-grade model with regular firmware updates.
