Set up a phone for someone working from home
Give remote staff a working office phone.
Remote phones need a reliable internet connection and a way to reach your phone system.
Steps
- Decide between a softphone app on their computer or mobile and a desk phone at home.
- For a desk phone, use your phone system's remote provisioning, router phone or SBC option.
- Make sure their home router has SIP ALG turned off.
- Test calls both ways, and check emergency calling, since their address differs from the office.
