Choose a PoE switch for desk phones

PoE means one cable for power and data.

Steps

1. Count your phones and add room to grow.
2. Check the PoE budget (total watts).Most desk phones need 3–7 W, colour and video models more.
3. Choose 802.3af/at PoE, and a managed switch if you want a voice VLAN and QoS.
4. Connect a UPS to the switch so phones keep working through short power cuts.
