Register a Cisco MPP phone

Set up a third-party SIP line on multiplatform firmware.

Cisco device

Only MPP (multiplatform) firmware can register to non-Cisco systems. Phones on enterprise firmware need converting first.

Steps

  1. On the phone, go to Settings → Status → Network status to find its IP address.
  2. Open the IP in a browser.Click Admin Login, then Advanced.
  3. Go to Voice → Ext 1.
  4. Under Proxy and Registration, enter your provider's server in Proxy.
  5. Under Subscriber Information, enter Display Name, User ID and Password.Set Use Auth ID to Yes if you have a separate auth ID.

  6. Click Submit All Changes.The phone restarts and the line should register.
